FinalistThe USA Film Festival is a 44-year-old, Dallas-based Academy-qualified program dedicated to the recognition and promotion of excellence in the film and video arts, which hosts the Annual National Short Film and Video Competition. Finalist status is conferred upon approximately 50 films each year culled from over 500 US entries.

Cine Golden Eagle - 2012

The Cine Golden Eagle Award acknowledges high quality production in a variety of categories for professional, independent and student filmmakers.  A Golden Eagle Award-winning production must “demonstrate an overall excellence that separates it from productions similar in content, genre or style.”  Past recipients of this award include Steven Spielberg, Ken Burns, Ron Howard and Spike Lee.

New York University First Run Film Festival - 2012

Best Original Score – Max Vernon, Andres Soto and Erich Rettstadt

Russell Hexter Filmmaker Grant - 2011

The Hexter Grant, a competitive award, is presented yearly to an undergraduate film student selected by a panel of writers, directors, cinematographers and other independent film professionals. The judging panel wrote that STATE DEBATE “shows great talent, style and’s a great film.”

Panavision New Filmmaker Grant - 2011

The production was selected to receive the use of Panavision professional 35mm camera equipment for principal photography. Past winners of the Panavision Award include Steven Soderbergh for Sex, Lies and Videotape and Jared Hess for Napoleon Dynamite.
