Emma Berliner, Production Design
Emma was born in Los Angeles. She is a Sagittarius. She recently graduated from New York University’s (NYU) Tisch School of the Arts, where she majored in Film and Television Production with a focus in Animation and a minor in Art History. Throughout her college years, she directed and production designed a variety of short films. Most recently, Emma completed her thesis film, Miss Ellis Island. She was a recipient of the Martin Scorsese Young Filmmaker’s Award and the Oliver Stone Screenwriting Scholarship.
Outside of NYU, Emma interned at the Weinstein Company and Supermarché. She also worked as a freelance animation assistant to the New York Times artist Jeff Scher on the short film, Pretty Dead, featured on Showtime. Her experience with Scher proved extraordinarily influential, and allowed her to merge her love of art and drawing with filmmaking. She has also ventured into the world of theater, designing the set for The Collectin’s Running Scared: The Technology Show and writing an episodic monologue entitled Anne Frankenstein, which was performed at the Bowery Poetry Club. Most recently, Emma production designed and costumed her first low budget feature film, Running Wild, written and directed by Melanie Shaw.
